About Us

IEEE, the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineering is a global leading professional organization in technical areas including computer sciences, electronics, electrical, robotics, communication, aerospace and among others. IEEE now consists of nearly forty thousands members, 300 local sections and 1.150 technical chapters spread through ten regions of the world.

The IEEE signal processing Tainan Chapter SPTC was established in 2005. There are over 100 active members in 2008. SPTC had been well organized and leaded by Prof. Jar-Ferr Yang (NCKU), Prof. Chung-Hsien Wu(NCKU). In the past four year SPTC cooperated with local universities, governments and industrials on technical and academic conferences to promote the researches and developments of signal processing technology. Since 2009, SPTC leaded by Prof. Jeng-Shyang Pan(KUAS) will continue the promotion of IEEE services and activities in the region of south Taiwan. In addition to regular lectures, officer meeting student affairs will be a focus in the near future to work on. There will be student-centric services and activities to help young students and junior scholars to explore the IEEE world and benefit from that.
